What a visit covers

What we teach at home in Manhattan

In Manhattan most families live in apartments — doorman buildings, walk-ups and senior residences. The nurse comes for an hour, works with the supplies and equipment you already have, shows each step and watches you and your caregiver practice until you feel sure. You keep written steps in English or Russian.

Tap a topic to book it — or choose “In-home visit — any topic” and bring your list of questions.

Hospitals, rehab centers and nursing homes

You can meet us at a Manhattan hospital or rehab center before discharge. We come as the patient’s guest under the facility’s visitor rules, explain the diagnosis, medications and therapy in simple words, and help you prepare questions and the plan for home. The facility’s staff give all the care.

How to book

Book a visit in Manhattan

  1. Choose online

Tap “Book a visit” — your borough is already chosen. Pick the topic, a day and a one-hour window.

  2. Confirm it’s you

We text a 6-digit code to your cell phone. Enter it, and your visit request is sent.

  3. We call to confirm

A representative calls you back to confirm the visit. The nurse asks what you want to learn and what to have ready.

Prefer the phone? Call 1-877-CARE-303 — press 1 for a home visit, 2 for a phone consultation, 3 to speak with a representative.

Questions

Questions from Manhattan families

Do you visit doorman buildings and walk-ups?

Yes. Put the entrance, the buzzer or doorman instructions, the floor and whether there is an elevator in the booking note, and the nurse plans around it.

Can you meet us at the hospital before my mother comes home?

Yes. We come to the bedside as her guest, under the hospital’s visitor rules, go over the discharge plan with you and list what to learn and arrange before she comes home. We review medical records only with her written permission (or her legal representative’s).

I live in another city. Can you check on my father in Manhattan?

Yes. With his permission, a nurse visits him at home, in the hospital or in rehab, sees how he is eating, moving and managing his medications, and sends you a full written report by email with practical next steps. If we see something urgent, we call 911 and let you know.

Do you give the injections or change the dressings yourselves?

No. We teach — you and your caregivers do the care. The nurse demonstrates each step, watches you do it and coaches you until you feel confident. Hands-on skills are taught as your doctor or nurse practitioner ordered.

Other areas we serve

Our nurses teach — they do not provide hands-on nursing care, and they do not replace your doctor, home health agency, facility staff or aide. We teach the care your physician or nurse practitioner ordered. We are not a licensed home care services agency or a Medicare-certified home health agency, and we do not employ or place home health aides. In an emergency, call 911.
